people together, steven chew, on your right, congressman dana rohrbacher, not much in common, except the rob the liquor store stocking caps for these two. both saved up for the day. justice scalia wore a more floppy hat, but he wants you to know his is supposed to look like this one, modelled after the german portrait of sir thomas moore, who had his head after the weird hat was the most remarked piece of head gear, since aretha franklin's hat in 2009. and i admit, mr. scalia's hat is notable, but nowhere near as notable, as congressman? what are you doing? for the record to be clear, the first lady on monday wore tom brown, and she looked amazing. >>> good thursday morning. right now on "first look," defense secretary panetta says it's time to lift a ban on women in combat. not everyone is happy about. that hillary clinton saves congressional fire over the benghazi attacks. >>> the frozen tundra outside your door looks like america's credit card won't get rejected afterall. >>> and don't bet against a train. >>> good morning. another military milestone today. the secretary o
for the traditional inauguration day church service and then up to the capitol where we find dana bash. >> thanks, brianna. i am on the west front of the capitol and this is where you're going to see that iconic image of the inauguration, 24 hours from now. this platform will seat about 1600 people and it is really the hottest it ticket in town. you're going to have members of the president and vice president's family, also going to have members of the joint chiefs of staff, the supreme court, governors, senators, house members, actually hearing that some house republicans are not going to be here, even though this is traditionally a bipartisan -- actually a nonpartisan event. this is also the kind of event that draws celebrity supporters. we had james taylor concert effectively here, practicing to sing "america the beautiful" tomorrow, beyonce will be here as well. i want you to look down the mall to see what everybody here is going to see tomorrow. doesn't look like a lot of people now, but we expect to see 600,000 to 800,000 people filling the national mall where don lemon is right now. >> oh,
. dana bash is live in washington. let's talk about dianne feinstein's props first. she's going to be holding a bushmasterer? >> reporter: i'm not sure if she'll be holding it. she might. she will have more than one assault weapon and she's going to have them on display. there you see the bushmaster ar-15. that is was, of course, the kind of weapon used in the newtown shootings. but the reason she is going to do this, i'm told, is to show specifically her fellow democrat, of which there are half a dozen or more that want to do little if anything to change the assault weapon laws, that you don't need these kinds of guns in the average of ordinary people. that is likely the argument she is going to make. again, it's going to be aimed at her fellow democrats resistant to this. but she is going to have a lot of different people with her to make this argument. this is the unveiling of the premier key legislation she promised to put out at the beginning of congress right after newtown. we are expecting to have quite a show when she comes up in about an hour. >> just so people understa
